Indledning
Weblogs, virtual reality og mange andre medier og genrer i cyberspace vinder mere og mere indpas. Bliver en integreret del af hverdagen hjemme hos mange, uanset om man er pensionist, professor eller pony entusiast. Indenfor den virtuelle fremtid skal organisationer gøre op med sig selv, om hvad og hvordan det virtuelle medie skal bruges lige netop i den konkrete kontekst. Det betyder at man som organisation skal tænke på sin målgruppe og så hvilket medie denne målgruppe opererer i. Med de nye medier som f.eks. weblogs, er der altid mange overvejelser, der skal gøres før man beslutter om det er en bølge man ønsker at ride med på.
For bibliotekernes vedkommende er det ikke anderledes. Her skal der også tænkes mange tanker, og oftest tælles knapperne i sparebøssen grundigt, før der investeres i et nyt medie.
At webloggen er en genre af internettet, er et udsagn som nogle vil være uenig i. Problemet ligger i, at webloggen er en svær størrelse, da det ikke er en genre i traditionel forstand. Der er med webloggen tale om hvad man kan kalde for en hybrid genre. Det skyldes at der i webloggen ligger et hav af facetter, undergrupper eller hvad man vælger at kalde det og at den kan anvendes på så mange forskellige måder og med mange forskellige formål. F.eks. er denne opgave også tilgængelig via weblog genren, for som blogger kan man ikke lade være.
At det lige skulle være webloggen som omdrejningspunkt i denne projektopgave på kandidatuddannelsen på Danmarks Biblioteksskole, skyldes en stor personlig interesse og nysgerrighed for webloggen som genre, men også ud fra et ønske om at dele min begejstring for webloggen med de danske biblioteker. Danske biblioteker har ikke i samme grad, som f.eks. de amerikanske, forstået at integrere det virtuelle rum med det fysiske, og webloggen kan været et redskab til at komme det lidt nærmere. Derved vil man også ramme de bruger/ikke-brugere som i stigende grad gør brug af internettet som det dominerende informations- og kommunikationsmedie.
Gennem skriveprocessen har jeg oplevet en ongoing debat i weblogs om f.eks. webloggens fremtid, dagbogs bloggere som ikke vil refereres til eller analyseres uden at blive adspurgt og lign. Det har betydet at der dagligt forekommer spændende og interessante diskussioner på weblogs, som har inspireret mig i forløbet.
